Art, portfolio and business classes!

Watercolor workshops, atelier format with professional demonstrations and short lecture each session:  

 Thursdays 7-9pm

Saturdays 4-6pm

Control your page with our time tested techniques and create artworks and color studies in the manner of the Masters.

Come for the full session, or drop by for your preferred 2-hour slot in the studio time. Instructor Janet Sellers will be available doing demos, class instruction, and critiques, or if you prefer, you can just set up and draw from the still life, photos,  live and/or projections on the wall of clothed figure models, landscapes and more. Class size limited to 10 max, 5 minimum to run the class, so grab your friends! 

(Tuition is per month: 4 studio sessions (8 full class hours!) is $225, includes one free Art Biz Salo discussion nite.

Drawing outdoors(weather permitting)  or studio, open studio/freestyle  format:

Wednesdays 8-10

Sundays  4-6 or 7-9

Come for the full session, or drop by for your preferred 2-hour slot each week in the freestyle outdoor or studio time. Instructor Janet Sellers will be available before the session for limited questions for 15 minutes before it starts, or just set up and draw from the Plein air scene; indoors use the still life set ups,  photos,  or projections on the wall of clothed figure models. Practice drawing using charcoal, pencil, and pen, keep a daily sketchbook and finish each month with a dynamite skills-building portfolio. Sorry, no oil or acrylic for this one, it's a green class. 

(Studio only - time slot fee is $75/month - use once or all 4 sessions of the month, same price, same great outdoor facilities! Drawing materials use fee is  $10/month and includes the use of paper, easels, charcoal, pencils, etc. so all you have to do us just show up.)

Art Biz Salons:

This open discussion salon goes 2 hours weekly for 6 weeks and takes you through the various areas important to keeping your feet on the ground while you get more involved in upbeat self-promotion and art business.

We cover simple methods for the business skills of banking, record keeping, and accessing the US Small Business Administration to advantage, marketing on a shoestring, simple optimizing of  your website for search engines/ SEO, and

getting free public attention online, radio, tv and more with writing a press release. 

6 weeks, $250.

Our time-tested techniques draw inspiration from the classics and the Masters, using modern materials and accessing modern media to get your art on the page and into the public eye!

Weekly classes can charge up your skills with daily practice at home and in the field.  You could have a reasonable portfolio of  work in a month with only 60 or more minutes a day investment outside of class!
